UNBC TimberWhales Underwater Hockey

Hi my name is Naomi Cole. I am one of the Co-Presidents of the TimberWhales. I am currently finishing my last year of Biomedical Studies at UNBC. Before coming to UNBC, I had never heard about UWH but since helping to restart the team I have loved every minute of it. I come from a swimming background so being back in the water is probably my favourite part, although I'll never say no to after practice drinks at Crossroads :)

Hi my name is Ella and I'm in my 4th and final year of Biomedical Studies at UNBC. I was initially offered to come to the first meeting for UWH and knew that it was something worth checking out. During that meeting, what I didn't know at the time, was that I had made one of the best decisions of my time at UNBC. Being Co-President has allowed me to harness my swimming strengths and make lifelong friends in a sport that I have now fallen in love with!!

Hi my name is Taryn and I'm going into 4th year Biomedical Studies at UNBC. When Stephen Rader talked about UWH at a Biochem BBQ, in Sept 2023, I knew it was something I wanted to try! I instantly fell in love with the game and I've learned so many new skills and have made friends that will last a lifetime! Going to 2024 Nationals is one of my biggest highlights of attending university. I can't wait to keep playing and grow the sport!!

I have been playing since 1979, initially in Urbana-Champaign, for a long time with the San Francisco Sea Lions, and a year with Montpellier. I am currently with the UNBC TimberWhales. I am hoping to play with Berlin during the coming year.

Hey! I'm Tate and I joined the TimberWhales in December 2023. In my free time I spend a lot of time at the lake, fishing, or hiking through a random forest. I've been able to meet my best friends on the TimberWhales, and I'm excited to see how our team can bring our sport to everyone in Prince George!

Hi my name is Benjamin and I am entering my 5th year of environmental engineering at UNBC. I had heard about this sport through friends and with a previous swimming background I was like sure lets try this and next thing you know I absolutely loved the sport. I am so excited to expand on my skills in underwater hockey and continue promoting the sport. When playing I prefer to be more forward with the action of scoring goals.
